finally, he's happy
This kid has been waiting for a day like yesterday for over two years.
When we filled up the sandbox two summers ago, I procrastinated making a cover for it and it quickly became the litter box for all the roaming neighborhood cats. I was pregnant at the time and wouldn't consider just cleaning the poops out and saving the sand. It all had to go- that Toxoplasmosis thing had me spooked. So finally there's sand again AND a cover that snaps on. Never mind the heat and humidity, the swarm of locust-sized mosquitoes, or the call to come in and eat BLT's for dinner. They worked hard in there until we came out and took them each in for a hose-down.

o so fun! good photos.
i need a cover for mine, too - for some reason, though, the cats in the nabe didn't find it until just this year (3 years after we built it). weird.
the kids love it, though, after they scoop out whatever might be icky. sand is fabulous for that tactile experience ;)

Such lovely photos! And what a treat for them to play in! For some reason, my kids have never been into the sandbox which makes me quite sad. Becuase I want to play out there!

Great sandbox, no wonder they were so happy.
Ours is a garish purple plastic hippo (but it does at least have a lid, and it keeps the kiddos busy for hours.

Oh yes - nothing like a good sandbox to while away the hours. FUN!

that reminds me, we need to buy sand for our sandbox. it took two years for them to empty 80 pounds of sand out of it.
oh well, aaron's gotta do it -- or it isn't being done anytime soon.

yay for the sandbox and its cover! We got one of them snap on deals too! Keely doesn't care for her sandbox much yet. Glad your babes are enjoying theirs.

My kids would love a sand box. It's been on the agenda for a few years now, but we still haven't gotten one. Hopefully one day soon, after we finish the fence that was supposed to be done two years ago!

i remember when we put in a sandbox last summer--the girls wouldn't leave it either. and I think I scrubbed sand out of more scalps that summer than I care to think about....
