good golly, it's done
This slipcover has taken over my life, the dining room table, and sun room for two weeks. I have to add a few bits of strategically placed Velcro and a couple of ties, and it will be completely done. Here it is looking all prim and tucked in for the photograph. In reality it looks a little more frumpy and lived on, because well, it is. But it is so much better than the old upholstery. Now I can make some new cases in warm Fall colors for the throw pillows.
It took 21 yards of fabric, 4 spools of thread, and many many cuss words. Even a little blood was shed. Right now, I'm going to go open the windows, relax on this new couch, and read for my book club.

Now it looks all new and so chic. Wish I could pluck up the courage to try something like this. My sofa and armchair covers are 16 years old!

Alicia, it looks fabulous! Just this morning as I was getting dressed I was wondering how this project was going. I can't wait to tackle my slipcover project in the near future, but I have a feeling it is going to be a while.

Wow! 21 yards! Did you HAVE 21 yards or did you make multiple trips to the fabric store? Fan-freakin-tastic girlie. Ya done good.

Don't spill the wine on the sofa though!

I made a slip cover for our couch 3 years ago. I will never do another one. It was SO MUCH work. Now we both know why custom made slipcovers cost so much. You did such an awesome job. It really looks fabulous.

wow! you did a fantastic job on that slipcover. I tried to sew a slipcover for a "free" chair....I worked on it day and night...lost sleep over it and it never amounted to anything but a bunch of discarded fabric. I am so impressed with your results!

It looks great! Well worth all that cussing.

You are so brave - it looks GREAT! I would never dare to do a project like that...you sure deserve to read a good book in that couch....
