kansas city weather
Yesterday the high was a balmy 65º F. (or something like that.)
Today the mercury is dropping all day, and they're predicting freezing rain and maybe a little snow. Time for a big pot of soup. Too bad we finally finished all of the turkey. (Did I really just say that?) A nice bowl of turkey and homemade noodles would have been nice. Any suggestions?

I love weather like that! Tomorrow is our rainy-cold-front-blowing-through day. Perhaps I should put a soup in the crock pot.

The weather is nippy over here too. I'm cooking up some cheddar corn chowder right now [Ina Garten recipe]. Yummm....

We had turkey and noodles on Monday and Ham and Beans on Tuesday. Nevermind it was balmy out. Bring on the crock pot cooking!!!!! I love having dinner ready when I walk in the door at night.

Yep, upper 70's here now but in the 20's tomorrow!! I've already got a pot roast on the stove. Add lots of veggies & we'll have a nice warm comfort dinner. :)

Soup and grilled cheese will definitely be on the menu this week. I just went to the grocery store, and it was full of people panicking about ice...

Try some Taco Soup. It is great tasting and incredibly easy to make. There are several recipes online, but my mom's goes something like this:
2lbs. ground beef or turkey
2 cans pinto beans
two cans black beans
2 cans kidney beans
an onion
2 cans of rotel
2 cans of diced tomatoes
a package of ranch dressing
cook ground beef, mix it all together, cook til heated through, serve with some cheddar cheese(or other) and some chips on top. I like sour cream. Oh, and some olives, too.
I always cut the recipe in half because it's really just me and my husband; the kids are too small for all that.
Our weather has been just like yours, and now it is definitely getting colder.
Good luck with whatever soup you cook.
