swimmingly

mermaidsally.JPG

I made my mermaid-loving niece a funny little doll costume (some of you already saw her on Flickr.) The costume fits my handmade baby dolls. Speaking of the baby dolls, I'm considering making a round of them for the shop in late November/early December. Do you think there would be any interest in that? (All opinions welcome, friends.)

Our days went swimmingly yesterday. She had fun at school. I got a lot done at home, mostly at my computer, but that's quite alright . I'm trying to finish up some freelance computer projects, so I can get serious about the making. Oh, I do enjoy the making.

Happy weekend!

Well I can speak from experience & say my girls LOVE the dolls you made them! Especially b/c they look like them. I think that would be key... sort of like the American Girl dolls that are popular.

oh alicia, she's so adorable.

(perhaps we'll run into each other at the westport art fair this weekend?)

I love the costume! We have one baby doll around here, and she's always naked -- no clothes allowed, apparently.

The doll and the mermaid garb is dee-lish. I'd think that there would be an interest in them for sure. :)
Glad you had and N had a good first day.

so glad the day went well - for both of you! and, i think the doll is marvelous.

love her. and all the dolls. glad everything went "swimmingly" (and because i haven't said so but have been thinking it - so pleased about the shop news! congratulations!)

yes, definitely... my daughter has been bugging me for an american girl doll, and I'd MUCH rather she had one of yours.

Yes, I think dolls are always desirable and think they would do especially well in the fall with pre-holiday buying! Your dolls are very sweet and look completely huggable!

She's adorable. By the way, I finally sent off the mag to you - it will take 6-10 weeks to get there!!

Um, yes, I think they would be well received. I've already been dreaming up some sweaters for dolls you'd be stocking in your shop - apparently before you even decided if you'll do so.

she is such an incredibly cool mermaid! i love the idea that a doll can be transformed by adding on a tail/skirt. very, very fun.

I've been a regular to your site for awhile, but I've never left a comment. Sorry about that. But, your doll was begging for a comment, so I had to oblige. She is wonderful. I just tried my hand at doll making with my daughters this week for the first time - which leaves me even more impressed with your doll. I put a link to your blog on mine so my family wouldn't be overly impressed with me. :) I think you should defiantly sell them in your shop. Great work.
By the way, I've mostly been drawn to your site because of your photography. I always enjoy it and it often inspires me.
Keep up the great work! -Christine

Those dolls are too great! I think you should totally sell them!

oh i adore your dolls and the mermaid costume is a SCREAM!

your dolls are indeed so presh. very different from the ones i make. i'd like to have one of yours to sit in my studio and smile at me. perhaps santa can bring me one.

Oh I adore your mermaid doll! I would absolutely buy one for my daughter's , especially if she had that cute mermaid costume. Such pretty work! (shoot me an email if you do open shop!)

oh, I am in love. Your mermaid is darling, just darling!

That mermaid is adorable! Love it.

i adore it!

bring on the dolls!!
:)

Your stuff is adorable and I love the mermaid outfit. I am sure you will do great at Etsy.

I love your dolls! I am very interested in purchasing one for my two-year old. Do you know your price range yet?

The mermaid is so sweet! Great design.
