with the good, the bad
** the good **
Friday night pizza with friends and a quick walk through the art fair.
A sudden downpour that makes us run for the car, whooping and laughing the whole way.
(fun for us, but maybe not so much for the artists.)
Painting Saturday for the sweetest clients ever- I'm working on the inside of a playhouse. It's going to be SO cute! I'll post pictures when it's done.
A little yard work before dinner.
A sputnik fire to celebrate the last day of summer.
** the bad **
Little N gets tangled in her tiny lawn chair, does a face plant onto the patio, develops a huge goose egg on her forehead and scares us all royally. (she's just fine now.)
Waking up early Sunday with ANOTHER raging migraine, which is unscathed by a fancy migraine pill.
Packing up the family to take Mom to urgent care.
A shot in the butt of something that doesn't help much, but that makes me sleepy enough to keep more fancy migraine medicine down.
Missing valuable mural painting time sick in bed.
(It's been an unusually bad migraine month for me.)
This is the one I really hate: I'm going to have to push back the shop opening. The new date is Thursday, October 18. As soon as I committed myself to the first date, my time filled up with painting jobs. (Yay and Oy!) I have realized after studying my calendar that there is just no way to finish it all in time. I can't pass the murals by when they appear; they're too unpredictable. That's the beauty of being in control of your own online shop, right?
** and to end with more good **
When I squatted down to take the photo, I half expected a little elf to scurry off.
Happy Autumn, everyone! Well, or Spring- depending on where you are. ; ) Here's to the good outweighing the bad!

Ooo, I saw the pictures of Miss N! Olivia got one of those awful goose eggs last year on our fireplace! Usually way more frightening for you than her I bet.
Being a migraine sufferer most of my life I have found something that really works, be it unorthodox...acupuncture. Seriously, I went to a licensed acupuncturist and didn't have a migraine for an entire year! Imagine! No sick headaches and spotty vision for twelve whole months!

dude, i've been getting headaches lately -- i'm blaming this cold (luckily, no migraines for me. those always knock me on my ass).

wow. that's qute a weekend. hope your headache has eased by now (i have a friend who has had great success following a certain migrane book - i can get you the name if you want it), and that you've recovered from all of that fun and not-so-fun craziness.
can't wait to see the playhouse mural.

Oh I hope the migraine is better quickly. N fell down and bumped her head and Mommy got a migraine.

have you tried dabbing a bit of peppermint essestial oil just to the hairline side of your temples? i have not had too many migraines (thankfully), but this little trick has helped with the few I've suffered.
I still plan to be your first shop customer!!

oh hon. migraines suck. I have'em pre-pms so I think they're hormonal. of course, I also got them every Sunday night when I was doing the hateful substitute teaching...
hope you find something that works. caffeine and heat or ice usually worked for me. the acupuncture thing sounds cool, too. I used it to turn a breech baby, so it definitely has some abilities in my book. hang in there!

I hope your migraine gets better!

do you find your migraines coincide with over doing something like caffeine? mine do. big time.

...and I've been whining about this weird headache I've been getting almost daily. But, it's just a piddly nuisance kind of one. I forget, it could be much worse!! Hang in there and good luck on the busy stuff!

Aw man. That's some rough stuff. Just reading about a migraine makes me feel ill. I'm sorry you are a sufferer. Stress induced? I hope you and N are feeling better. That bump looked scary.
love to ya.

Are your migraines allergy related? My allergies are horrible right now, just wondering. I'm sorry you're having migraines, it's not a feeling you can really function with.
That's so funny you took a picture of those mushrooms be/c when I was walking home this afternoon I saw a white one just like that and wished I had my camera! I'm glad I get to see your picture!

Sounds like there were some good moments squeezed in between all the bad ones. I hope you are feeling better by now.
(I love running through unexpected rains. They make me whoop and laugh, too.)

You mean you didn't see the elf hiding behind the leaf?
Posted by: The Fairy Godmother | September 26, 2007 4:35 AM
Oh, I hope you and your sweet girlie are feeling better soon. And putting the shop opening off a bit just adds dramatic flair...builds up the suspense, you know? Hang in there...I hope your back on your feet soon.

poor you...I get those type of migraine and have to have fancy pills to get rid of them and really panic if my stock is running low. I used to need injections for the nausea in order for me to keep the magic pills in my stomach long enough for them to be absorbed. I now use a tablet which I push up between my gum and my top lip, called Buccastem (the name may be different where you are)and it has been a miracle cure for me. I do hope all your worries dissipate soon enough, life throws some stuff at us at times!

Hi there!
What a beautiful blog you have--I'm so enjoying it. The migraines are nasty, aren't they? My husband finally visited a neurologist and we found that his migraines weren't responding to the other meds becuase he has a special, rarish kind that needs a seizure medication instead. He feels like he has control over them for the first time ever. What a relief!
