pulling irons out of the fire

Hi everyone. I lied. I said over there ----------> in my sidebar that I'd do one more shop update next week. Unfortunately, I think it's just too much. It's time to call it quits for the holidays and concentrate on other things.

For those of you who ordered Baby Dolls, they're almost done. I've been stitching on heads and faces today, and tomorrow I'll be sewing the wee dresses. I will ship the out-of-town dolls first thing Monday morning and then I hope to have all the in-town dolls ready to deliver later in the week.

I think I'll take a break from the doll factory this afternoon and work on this new Advent Calendar a la Martha. A few baby socks, a little rick-rack, some line and pegs and poof! New tradition. The activity tucked in each sock will be nature, family, and giving oriented. There are tons of great ideas floating around out there. I'm striving to keep the season calm and meaningful. Our first activity tomorrow will be picking out our tree. Yippee!

Have a great weekend! xo.

p.s. Have you heard the great news?

good for you, for calling it quits. it is good to know when we have reached our limit. i try more and more to say no. it keeps me sane, and it really is okay to give ourselves a break!

okay...can't wait to see your advent stockings!! too much!

I'm with you, on keeping the season calm. Silent Night comes to mind. I think we can appreciate and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas when we slow down.
Oh, I wonder if you are coming to Lawrence tonight for the show opening? I'd love to see you!

always loved that babysock idea...
will be thinking of you and your tree tomorrow. enjoy! xo

We are attempting to keep it calm over here as well. Can't wait to see the tiny socks!

hope the advent of advent was good for all of you!

We picked out a tree today, too! (in the rain) It smells good in here now.

Let me know when I can drop off your cup+sleeve. I'd ding-dong-ditch you, but it's pretty windy out there, and the bag would probably end up at your neighbor's or something!

i wonder if kiddley has finally been removed? your link isn't working anymore. :(

i can't wait to see pics of the finished product! and i cannot wait until we get our tree! (next weekend!)

xo

I love the looks of that advent calendar. So sweet! I decided to focus on the wreath and weekly dinners this year. I don't think I could handle a daily thing this year but this gives me great ideas for next year. I like that it is focused on more than just gifts.

Good for you for slowing down. I gave up the handmade Christmas cards this year. The thought of it was too stressful.

Cheers! LA
