counter height is better

This is my work table- flat files my mom adopted from an architectural firm for which she worked. It was her work table for years (she was, IS an artist too) and then she passed it on to me. The photo is hazy; I had a hard time dealing with the strong cross lighting.

I've been working on it so much more lately (woo hoo!) but I keep getting a strange crick in my upper back (boo hoo.) So my sweetie built me a new base for the table to raise it up to counter height. I love my sweetie. He does it all. He really does.

This is so cool. Lately I have been thinking more of raising my work table up for the same reason. but I don't have a cool old work table ...that makes it way better!

Hooray for the handy hubby! I have a counter height work surface and it's great.

lucky, lucky girl!

I think he's a keeper ... that husband of yours!

what about a tall bar stool to sit on? Would that relieve the crick?

i have flat files made counter height by an awesome husband in my art studio too! mine were an adoption from some gov't office that was going to trash them. love, love, love my work table!

that is awesome! i really want a counter height work table. can i borrow your husband? fatty is not that handy.

I love the story behind the table, and your mom just amazes me all the time. Really, the more I hear about her, the more in awe I feel. And that Brian?! Wow, he's a keeper, too!

And a counter-height workspace. Definitely on my list.

hurray for your handy husband. I have one of those too, and he is amazing. your worktable is fantastic.

Awww, sweetie indeed! That work table is tremendous. And all that light flooding into the room? Divine! I wouldn't be able to pull myself away from that beautiful space :)

Wow, that is a beautiful work table! I do all my cutting on my freezer or my ironing board, so your beautiful table is a dream to me!

That looks like a lovely work table! I would love to have some counter height working space... Right now my work table that isn't my desk is just a folding table that I can set up when I need extra space, but there is no room for something that lovely. And how great that your table even has a bit of history to it!
