not a bad little tree
The weekend was balmy and very pleasant. A perfect time for the ceremonial burning of the Christmas tree, a tradition for my firebugs.
She was a big, crackling fireball for about 90 seconds, going out in quite the blaze of glory as all very dead little trees should. Last year some helpful folks ran over from the park to make sure our house wasn't on fire. : )
It's warm again today. We're off for a long walk to the post office, with party invitations and camera in hand. Happy Monday, all!

Oh, how I do love the burning of the Christmas tree! The mister's family tends to leave it to the summer when we have a big barbeque and bonfire. By then, the tree takes about 10 seconds to burn out! Your pictures are awesome -- hope you had a lovely walk in the warm weather!

We have a family tradition of burning the christmas tree. The first year we wrote down regrets or resolutions on little pieces of paper and tucked them into the branches before we lit the tree, but now we just watch it while it very quickly burns.
