not a bad little tree

The weekend was balmy and very pleasant. A perfect time for the ceremonial burning of the Christmas tree, a tradition for my firebugs.

She was a big, crackling fireball for about 90 seconds, going out in quite the blaze of glory as all very dead little trees should. Last year some helpful folks ran over from the park to make sure our house wasn't on fire. : )

It's warm again today. We're off for a long walk to the post office, with party invitations and camera in hand. Happy Monday, all!

Seven and then soon three. Amazing how time flies.

Now that looks like a fun way to wrap up Christmas!

enjoy your walk - and this mild weather!

that looks like fun! my kids would have loved seeing that! the hubby's house went down due to a dry tree when he was a kid. we now have a fake tree, but my husband doesn't have flashbacks. the things we sacrfice for those we love.

our invitations were mailed this morning, too. i so wish we could have you here!

Looks like fun. Enjoying this while it lasts...

Oh, how I do love the burning of the Christmas tree! The mister's family tends to leave it to the summer when we have a big barbeque and bonfire. By then, the tree takes about 10 seconds to burn out! Your pictures are awesome -- hope you had a lovely walk in the warm weather!

bye bye little tree, thanks for bringing happiness to my friend and her family! :)

I bet that fire smells divine. How lovely!

We have a family tradition of burning the christmas tree. The first year we wrote down regrets or resolutions on little pieces of paper and tucked them into the branches before we lit the tree, but now we just watch it while it very quickly burns.
