prints, noticing, paint
I've been having prints made of some of my photographs, hunting for a high quality yet affordable option. So far, I think whcc.com is the contender, but it would be nice to find someone local. I'll let you know how it goes. Any suggestions?
Heather sent me the two prints in the foreground. They are beautiful. Thank you, friend! And thank you ALL for visiting the Noticing Project and for leaving us such supportive comments. Heather has done a thank you post of her own today, and she links to a bunch of you who have mentioned us. It is so flattering and uplifting. This all couldn't have come at a better time.
This time of year is notoriously difficult for me, yet I feel like I have new eyes. This morning I was dashing out to the recycling bin to snatch out a coupon before the trash guys get it, saw the incredible pattern in a frozen puddle, and had to run back in for the camera. I couldn't help laugh at myself in my jammies, robe and old slippers squatting down in the drive way. A bright spot this blustery morning already. AND quite the entertainment for the morning commuters.
The retrieved coupon is for Hobby Lobby. I really shouldn't, but I'm off this morning for some new acrylics. I have some paintings to begin, and I do believe it is time for an upgrade. Hopefullly Liquitex is a step in the right direction.
That's it, kids. Have a great weekend! And to some of you lovelies- see you tomorrow...

That is a gorgeous photo, definitely worth the slipper picture taking (love that photo too).
I've really been enjoying the Noticing Project. It's amazing how beautiful simple things can be.

You know, you can print Hobby Lobby coupons from their website - I do it just about every week.

I love me some Liquitex! Good job snatching the coupon -- it's pricey.
That icy puddle pic was totally worth it. Your slippers look warm and cozy though.
TNP fan here, too. Eye candy for the soul.

I was thinking about you and how we posted in all of Feb last year. Be careful running to the recycle bin and for you camera, I wouldn't want you to slip on the ice in your jammies. You'd be the talk of the neighborhood then.

Just printed two hobby lobby coupons off the website this morning. And, didn't need either of 'em. Seemed like everything was on sale!
I just shot a photography artist friend o' mine an email about the local printer he uses. I'll let you know if he has anything insightful to say.
See you tomorrow!

I often wonder if my neighbors think I'm a little odd for my photo-taking in slippers. :) I haven't been doing it as much lately. I should take a cue from you and not let the cold get to me, and just get out there!
See you tomorrow!

Oh my gosh! I had the same thought run through my head this morning as I was taking pictures of frost on our car while the garbage men were on our street. they probably think I am crazy running around in pajamas!

I know this is unrelated to your current post, but I am a newbie at sewing and your Smocket pattern made my (and my 3 year old sister's) day! (Well, it actually made her birthday :P ). Instead of a pocket, I sewed on a felt "T" (for Tiandra) with zig-zag stitching. It was adorable! Many thanks again!

Alicia-the noticing project is dee-lish. You're taking such great shots. You're gonna have a fun year. :)
Hi and call me nosey...are you making a photo wall of your prints or do you have something else up your sleeve? huh?
smooches.

Wow I love the morning light you've captured there. And well done for getting the shot *and* the coupon!

Gorgeous photos!
I, too, have wanted to find a good quality printer. I don't like the shiny and poor quality prints I've had printed from some of the big-name online printing sources. I'm still looking... (Though I do love those little Moo cards---I'm addicted to those)...

Oooh, I just discovered your blog and the noticing project, I've just spent a very enjoyable lovely half hour exploring your blog. I'll be back!

Have you used a printer that doesn't require photoshop? i'm curious. my sister gets the best prints in Canada at London Drugs. It makes me so jealous, because they can turn it around in a day and it's CHEAP!
i love all the photos so much, alicia. i'm sorry i'm not saying it more often!
