a hard time
We're having a little bit of a hard time. Poor little N is still sick. She's been up in the night for several nights. She feels unwell. I feel tired and crabby. I feel guilty for being crabby. Brian is tired too, and I get mad at him for saying he has a meeting. Yeah. I wish I had a meeting. The washer broke, so I'm up to my ears in dirty sheets and clothes (that special kind of dirty that is such a treat for the mother of a three year old with the stomach flu.) Brian fixed the machine last night so I'm trying to catch up. J is bored and tired of scrambled eggs and leftovers for dinner. The weather is lovely, so I hear. N and I are missing it. We really haven't been outside since Saturday.
Everything is on hold. These canvases have been patiently basking in the sunlight for days. We'll catch up soon, paints and brushes.
I think I'm going to take a few days off here as well while we all recover. I hope to catch up with all of you soon too.
Until then, STAY WELL.

Stay well yourself, my friend! It's bad when the kids feel crummy - it is worse when it's the mama. And stupid daylight savings time doesn't help, does it?

Gute Besserung!
I have been reading your blog for a while, but never left a message.
We moved from Switzerland to WA about 17 month ago and I still do not feel comfortable to write in english. Nevertheless I think (at one point) you should get a comment from your blog-readers. So here is mine: I love to read your blog, I enjoy the pictures, .... and I hope your little one will be better soon and you will get some rest.
Take care.

Oh, I'm so sorry... That's the toughest when they're sick and you're stuck inside. I'm sending good wellness thoughts your way. You'll have a beautiful spring to enjoy when it's over.

Oh, it sounds so rough! A sick little one AND a broken washer? Yikes. I hope things get better for you real soon and you have a chance to relax.

sending big hugs your way. (that sleep deprivation. it makes every hill look like a mountain. i'm way too familiar with the symptoms you describe.)

I so feel your pain. I too live in Kansas City and the flu that is going around is terrible. My husband had it for two weeks, I had it for three and my 5 year old ran a fever for a week straight before the Dr. decided she did need an antibiotic. Our washer broke during that time too. When it rains it pours doesn't it. I hope you all are feeling better. Definately see the Dr. though it does not seem to go away on it's own.

Oh, Alicia, I hope your baby girl gets better soon and that you get a chance to catch up. One thing that might cheer you up is looking at those precious little hands on her -- still baby hands. Love them.

oh, poor dears. i feel your pain. the stomach flu hunkered down here a few weeks ago, and boy did it linger. and just when we thought it would never leave, it moved on. wishing you all a quick return to wellness.

Oh my!! Hug that sweety for us and take all the time you need.
Isn't it great to feel this 'needed'! (tongue in cheek of course)Hopefully when all is said and done and wee one is back to full speed you'll have a little time to yourself.

oh, I hope your little N is feeling better. it's tough to be sick. and it's tough to be a momma to a sick little one. I have been there, though, wishing I had a meeting.

So sorry. It's really NOT fun having sick little ones. And yes, it is draining - mentally, physically and emotionally. Hope all is well and soon!
Enjoyed my first visit to your blog. Thanks for sharing :)

Oh, I hope you're doing a bit better. I can hear where you're at with all of the illness and I've been there, too. I remember a time when both my kids had a horrible stomach flu and my husband was out of town and I felt like I would never get the smell of vomit and sickness out of my nostrils. I remember walking outside at one point and just relishing in the sunshine and fresh air...
Take care!!

Sent over from Heather's site to give you hugs and hope your little one is back to herself soon. It certainly can be trying on the patience and nerves to have that worry on the back of your mind with all the other daily wrong-goings. Well, hopefully by the time you read this things will have turned for the better. In the meantime, hugs to you!!!

Lots of deep breaths for this too shall pass.
It's hard being the mommy in these kinds of times, but trust me the memory will fade and that gorgeous photo will remain along with the beautiful woman N will become.
But today? It's damnably hard and crabby-making.

hope N. is feeling better. poor girl, poor Alicia.
(such sweet lashes on those baby cheeks)
hope you're getting some sleep
