quilt square number two
I finished up my square for Kathy's month of the Virtual Quilting Bee last night. Three days late? That's all. Three days late is the new on time.
Kathy pointed us to a few Gee's Bend quilts and Nancy Crow for inspiration, and wanted to keep them in the spirit of log cabin squares. This is my interpretation. It's not at all what I started out putting together- I seem to be having a wee bit of trouble taking into account seam allowances- but I'm happy with it and I hope Kathy will be too.
Can someone please, remind me to go fetch a new rotary cutter blade before I do this month's square?! Eegad.
p.s. Don't miss Shari's interview with Hannah. It's good. And Heather is putting some pinhole pieces in her shop today. Better hurry on those babies.

The square is really nice!
I used a nicked rotary blade for I don't know how long. I constantly had perforated cuts. I FINALLY just got a replacement. Why are those so hard to remember?
I just got the last pinhole piece! :D

I really like the red in it. I got the same fabrics as you.

I would love to learn how to quilt (however, I am not a naturally gifted crafter). How would you suggest I learn...a library book, under someone's direction?
Is it difficult? I've already purchased some bits of fabric, working my way up to enough for a child sized quilt.

Thanks Alicia, I LOVE it! Can't wait to put the whole thing together. Jo-Ann's has rotary blades 50% off right now ;)

That quilt square is just lovely. It's soothing. What is that dotty gray/blue fabric? Love it.
