sweet little pilgrim
I mentioned the other day that my friend asked me to make her daughter something else- a dress for their upcoming trip to the East Coast and Colonial Williamsburg (or was it Plymouth Plantation?) Either way, I finished it yesterday and it it is adorable.
Made from this pattern, it was the most complicated dress I have ever sewn (and I made my own wedding dress!) I didn't line the bodice to keep it light-weight for the hot weather, so are were more exposed seams on the inside than I would normally like. Other than that, it turned out great, and she really seems to like it.
And the icing on the cake? In a few years after she has outgrown it, little N will probably get to wear it too.
Happy Monday. J and I are going to make some lemon bars now! Shall I save you one?

um, yes, save me one! I LOVE the dress! I have looked at that pattern a few times ... we are so into period costume around here. Also, I have to tell you something funny. Yesterday a friend of mine was staying the night with us on her way to a test, and E was telling her about our trip. She said that she didn't want to leave your house because she thought she was kind of in love with J! LOL. I'm not sure exactly what she meant by it, because I always say I'm in love with things like, oh, napkins. So I think it was totally like she didn't even know what she was saying, in a way. But I thought you'd think it was cute. :)
