hooray for long weekends
A sudden storm rolled through yesterday evening with a heavy downpour and thunder and lightening. (And a rogue overhead crack of thunder at about 9 pm that sent Brian and me both scrambling off the couch away from the big speech to check our trees!) And there was cool air on the other side. In August. Who'd a thunk it? The grass here is still green green not the usual crinkly lifeless brown we see this time of year. Strange and all together fabulous.
I am so very much looking forward to this long weekend. The week kind of got away from me, so I have a long list today to accomplish. Things to wrap up and ship off. A bit of cleaning. A couple of errands. Maybe some baking. This household has a hankering for sitting outside and relaxin'. (Yo, Rach. If you find yourself bored, hungry and/or lonely, head over.)
But first, I am going in for another cup of coffee and to sneak some peach cobbler for breakfast. If you have kids, you know what I mean.
HAPPY WEEKEND!

Enjoy your weekend...I'm so looking forward to mine! I do have kids, and I've been known to hide somewhere, eating the last piece of apple pie for breakfast:)

i'd be more excited for the weekend if griffin wasn't laying on the couch running a high fever, oy.

Oh my. That recipe. I cannot resist the salty-sweet combo. Cannot.
Have a good long weekend! Ours will be 9 days long! Chris' brother is coming into town with his wife, so he's taking the week off. A staycation I guess.

We had one last night that was crazy. We lost the roofing on the carport - it's currently on the neighbor's house. Oops! Roofers are on the way.
We must be having parallel lives today. I too ate peach cobbler for breakfast. :)

We've had a mild summer overall too. We haven't had rain until recently but we never had excessive heat waves like we normally do. Enjoy your weekend.

N looks like she is growing into a little lady over there.
We have been having rain and cooler weather, which is so unlike MD at this time of year. (The rain may be the effect of Hurricane Fay, I'm not sure.)
