sweet zoe

so little

I'm breaking my no-kid-faces rule, just for today. Our little friend Zoe has been coming to our house every Wednesday for years. She's the daughter of one of my best friends in the world. This photo was one of the first times she stayed. For a while if you asked her who her brother was, she'd say J. They really are the best of friends- all three of them. When we go out and about, people often comment how much "all" my kids look alike and how cute they are together. Instead of explaining the whole thing, I often just say, "Yes. Thanks!"

last day

But time flies, people. It really does. Heading off to all-day kindergarten next week, today is her last day here with us. We had a little lunch party in the backyard with friends, grilled hot-dogs, cake, chips, cookies, and water play. I told her she was our guest of honor. She said "Oh, Leeshie, I'm not a guest here." Of course not, sweetie.

They are in there now, watching "Night at the Museum" and playing and bickering like siblings.

We do love her so.

Leeshie...that is so cute. It's amazing how quickly time flies.

i love how you are all like family and she is so smart to recognize she's not a guest. how grown up and thoughtful of her. what a fun time!

they do grow so fast! fiona is starting school in september too and i am a little nostalgic already.
i is great that they have created such a bond and such good memories already.
{they all look so cute in those photos!}

She does fit in with your little blondies, doesn't she? They look like sweet friends.

Such cuties... all of them.

Those childhood friendships are the sweetest! I hope they stay friends forever.

Oh, that's so bittersweet. The whole thing is so sweet. I echo Leslie's sentiments.

Leeshie – You made me cry! Zoe adores you all…..and so does her mom! It has been approximately 23 years and we are still friends, hopefully in 23 years they will still be friends! I promise to do my part to ensure that happens. Our kids truly have a special bond and with a little effort (especially on my part ) we can continue it. I am so thankful for the past 4 years and that you and J and N got to have such an important part of her life. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

It's wonderful when your friend's children are friends with your children, isn't it?

It is so sweet when your little ones have such good friends, and even better when you like their parents! You're lucky to have them.

Leeshie, this is just so sweet. Thanks for breaking your rules and sharing. They look to be the sweetest of 'framily'... And yay for Kindergarten! Go Zoe!

This is so sweet!

Jeni shared this with us this morning. We also want to thank you and your family for being such an important part of Zoe's life.

Zoe loves J and N and talks about them to us all the time. She loves her Leeshie too!

I'm so glad you and Jeni have remained friends. Remember the time you two decided to lay carpet in Jeni's bedroom downstairs?

Thanks again for being so good to Zoe. We'd love a copy of the pictures you posted.

aw, very sweet!

Beautiful children.
It's remarkable how much all 3 of them look a like. Couldn't tell they weren't siblings at first.

ok....I am STILL looking at your website!!! It is 9:30PM and I do have a job, 2 small children, a house to clean etc etc.....I SERIOUSLY can't believe you make all these things.....I admit I am a bit jealous of how talented you are. Oh, I am not feeling sorry for myself, I am in fact good at things but does selling houses count???? Cheers to you and your immensely talented self.
