and today is green

It's grey actually- cold and grey, but here's a little green to brighten things up:

i love fondue

•a gift from my mom. A super-groovy fondue pot. I love it.

not feeling it

•working on Melissa's square for the VQB. It is real, real bad. Now don't start saying it isn't- this picture is flattering. It. is. UGly.
Back to the sketch pad.

And speaking of brightening, (knock, knock) the sun might peek through this afternoon!

Your block made me think of the one I have been challenged with this month. I'm still on the drawing board for that one, too.

Total fondue pot envy over here. That is awesome.

It is gray here too, rainy with heavy winds. I wish I had a green fondue pot like you.... I with Miss Chris total fondue pot envy! I hope the sun peeks through for you today!
Happy Wednesday!

fantastic fondue set. that green may be my very favorite color.

I am lovin' it too! Very groovy!
As for the block.... what did you
use? a Zig~Zag for the edge or a
surger? And do you still have some
fabric? you could still have this
saved. make them fruit trees!
add apples pears peaches! anything.
you can sew them on or use buttons!
If you want to redo the whole thing
then maybe you can use the fabric
cut in the shapes you like and
pre zig~zag. then you can sew them
on... I like to do the zig~zag then
use it to turn under! then use your
machine slowly and fold under the
zig~zag while using a small regular
stich about 1/8 of a inch in...
it is cute, but you need to practice
it first.
make sure you make the shape bigger
than you would need for the folding
under. Good luck! I would think
that it would be fun to make 2 shapes
for every tree, fold one over the other
and make a pouch then you could add
a bird or squirel. You just lay one
shape with design face up, then
one more with design face out but folded
in half. line up over the bottom of the
shape so in the middle of your tree there
will be a pouch. got it? sew around the
edges. for a trunk have you took and
used stuffing or batting to make the
stump puffy? or even cooler add the
batting to the fabric then keep sewing
up and down then side to side... sorta
wild machine quilting... to make bark~
then when you like it stitch the sides!
This is such a cool sewing group the
next time you start the sewing group
I would love to join!!!
Thanks a million for listening,
Rane and kids
