surprise
With eyes half-closed I shuffled down this morning to let out the dog and make the coffee, just like I always do. I was greeted by the most surprising, beautiful blanket of snow. It actually made me gasp.

I figure if it's really going to be something like 12º F today, we might as well have snow.
There was one short trip to fetch and deliver birthday doughnuts to school. (Another surprise. This one for J's teacher- oh she looked just thrilled with the prospect of indoor recess AND Krispy Kremes. Hee hee.) Now N and I are home to stay, to watch the snow and bake something. Maybe bread though I know she'll vote cookies.
You stay safe and warm this weekend.

send that snow our way, it is crazy warm for January and it is making me nervous about what the summer is going to be like. hot and dry, dry, dry...

You lucky thing having snow!! My nine year old daughter has taken to watching the weather reports each night and praying for snow - we don't see that much snow over here. The most snow we ever saw was in 2001, and she was too young to go out and enjoy it!! Doesn't everything seem more peaceful somehow when there's snow?

Goodness, it's cold there! I love your pictures. They make the cold seem warm, in a sense. :)

I was surprised to see snow here the other day. It didn't stay long but it was nice to see. Its going to dip to 5 tomorrow so I think we will stay inside as well.

I am sitting in the odd part of the country with record highs today. Believe it or not I'm jealous of your snow! Great photos!

It's like imagining fairyland, or atlantis... trying to wrap my head around 12 degrees and snow.
Snuggle in and be warm!

I was surprised by that snow, too. The girls got to wear their new snow boots for the first time.
The doughnut looks yummy.
What's with all the indoor recess? I remember only having indoor recess very rarely. Certainly not just because of snow and cold. I send Elise to school with boots, mittens, etc. and they play inside...

I love the pictures you've taken. We had snow here in western Nebraska too, but sadly it is gone today.

What a beautiful and fascinating blog, I'm so glad I found you! The images of the snow are just so delightful, particularly because I live in the desert where it is 40 degrees (Celsius) here today. I will definitely be adding you to my beautiful blogs list. Hope you are have a wonderful day.
