the biggest reason...
I wish we had a pool: night swimming.
There are so many reasons not to want a pool, but after a relaxing float in the glowing water, chatting, sipping margaritas, watching the bats dip down for a drink, it's hard to remember them.

Pools really aren't that hard to maintain. I think it's well worth it.
