I'm not kidding.

oh.my.god.

Brian, my sweet husband and resident ice cream expert, made this ice cream last night. We had some freezing issues (not enough ice cream salt) so he put the mixture into the fridge. This morning I ran to the grocery for more salt and "refroze" it. It worked beautifully. He used blueberries from the freezer and our favorite milk and half-and-half. Oh, and he used full fat cream cheese instead of the reduced fat the recipe calls for.

Oh.my.god.

I don't know what you're doing right now, but it would be prudent to stop whatever it is and dig out the ice cream maker.

Go.

(Thank you, thank you, thank you, Kayla D. for suggesting this recipe!)

And think how good blueberries are for you. You should have another bowl.

Hmm, I was going to make blueberry-lemon muffins, but ice cream sounds good too... I love this season for food. Love, love, love.

I just wanted to say thanks so much for mentioning Shatto Milk as your favorite. We love communicating with our customers and would love for you to come visit us on the farm this summer. I hope you get the chance to try our ice cream or cheese curds, I am certain you will love them. As always, thanks for your support!

oh my. and just when I had to give up dairy...

I'm so glad you liked it! Now I'm craving ice cream.

That sounds amazing! I don't have an icecream maker, but I may need to go find one...quickly.

You've just reminded me that I need to break out the ice cream maker...can't believe I haven't made a batch yet!!! Blueberry cheesecake ice cream! YumO!

I am stopping right now...holy cow.

I've been on an ice cream bender this summer. And blueberries are in season. Perfect.

Hi, I stumbled onto your blog via a comment left over at simple sparrow. You have quite a lovely blog! I just might try that ice cream, too. I finished making some no cook strawberry ice cream out of the new "Gourmet" magazine. quite good.

I loved all your camping tips on your last post, and it was quite timely, as I seeking information on averting ticks. This is for my teen aged daughter, who hasn't been camping before. Do you have any tricks or tips? A dear friend of mine is suffering with tick borne disease,as well as her entire family, so I'm very panicked about my daughter going camping. Any help would be appreciated. sorry this is such a long post :)

Do you need an ice cream maker? Or can I just use something freezer safe and my standard comes-atop-refridg-freezer??

5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!

5-MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
A small splash of vanilla extract 1 large coffee mug

Add dry ingredients to your largest mug and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using), vanilla extract, then mix again.

Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts (high.)
The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!

Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired. Goes great w/ ice cream.

EAT!
(this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).

I LOVE homemade ice cream. Oh. my. goodness.

Lucky Alicia. :)
