I like it
Whatcha think? I finished the coat this weekend. It still feels a little old lady-ish, but I'm embracing it because I really like it. See the little wristlet purse? My mom gave it to me for my birthday. It's covered in felted wool balls. SO cute!
You really should have seen the set up to take this shot. It involved a very precarious swivel-stool-stacked-book tripod and a set of andirons as the stand in for me to focus the auto timer. I would have spent less time actually pulling out the real tripod, but that would have been too easy. And I really need one of those remote shutter thingies.
The windchill is brutal here today, so I think I'll wear this fancy new coat to go pickup the kids from school now. : )
Have a good Wednesday.

Love it, Alicia. Makes me wonder about all those sweet coats that I find thrifting that are too short for my long, gorilla arms ... Maybe I don't need to pass them up any longer.

Oh, I love it! Now all you need is a big flower brooch :)

I've had very poor results taking pictures of myself. I think you did a fabulous job. As for the coat, it's lovely. I don't think it's old ladyish at all. Where did your mother find the wristlet?

Hey, I like it, too. Did you make any mods other than the sleeves? It looks like it's the perfect length for you, so was just wondering if you'd shortened it (it looked longer in the pre-op photo!) Very, very cute!!

Adorable. I think you need to use part of the sweater to make a kickin' scarf to wear with it - says your scarf-addicted friend.
So you didn't get a snow day either.... oh well. We'll have a nice day off when it is warm and beautiful.
Happy Wednesday. :)

I have one very similar to that, and love it...no need to feel like an old lady! Old ladies have better class than most younger folk! :)

Adorable! I'm still very much a beginner when it comes to sewing but I'd love to be able to do something like that.

No old lady in that, Alicia, it looks beautiful.

I love it. So classic. Wear any colour with it and it will look great. I am a scarf wearer from way back. Try some you have. It is very pretty. Enjoy it.

I love how the coat turned out! Such a clever idea. To make it less old lady-ish I'd add some grand buttons down the front for a pop of color and surprise!

Oh, great! It looks fab and is the perfect blank canvas for endless scarf/corsage combinations.
You may just have resurrected the 3/4 sleeve coat from my wardrobe which I bought on impulse and then hated for the chilly forearm factor.
