it's official
I'm stir crazy.
It's our second snow day in a row. It's deadly cold out there. My car is in the shop (for something minor) but I doubt we want to brave the frigid temps anyway. I have been feeling that old February fatigue creeping in early, so I'm making a strong effort to stay positive. I should be working, but my office/studio is the coldest room in our old house. When we turn on the space heater and any one of the following: tv, the space heater downstairs, the other tv, the iron, etc., it trips a breaker. I'm getting a little behind on some work projects, but oh well.
To fight it off the funk today I have:
slept late
cuddled my little people
built an icicle sculpture
danced and sang with N
read a book
and now I do believe it is time. Time to bake a chocolate cake. Indeed.
Stay cozy.

I aways find chocolate cake cures the doldrums... I live in the frigid cold every single winter and just long for warmth and sunshine until it shows up sometime in late April or May...

oh. yes. I'm knitting. finishing, reworking, starting. and reading. and making more soup than my two boys will ever want to eat. Baking more bread, baked a little fruity cake. And cleaning. always the cleaning.
No snow day here, but my boy was under the weather and will be home again tomorrow since he slept most of the day today. tomorrow he'll need entertaining.

Like you, I'm tired of this winter weather. Too cold. Too much snow. When I get home from work at 5:30 my day is done. It's dark and cold so I just want to put on my pjs and call it a day. Which I've been doing right after dinner and reading for the entire evening.
71 days until spring (or close to it).

I love your ice sculpture! And I have cabin fever, too. I've cooked & baked way too much already, and it's too cold to venture out for more than a minute with my camera. I'm so looking forward to the warmer temps predicted for tomorrow and beyond!
