two thousand ten
20-10. Twenty ten? No, I prefer the long way. I wanted to set down a few things l'd like to do this year, personal wishes to fulfill (love that Rach). I'm not really a resolution maker, but I do love a good list, so here's where the twain shall meet.
I will try to...
Get involved with the arts again- go to the Nelson for lectures, attend openings, First Fridays, go to some more of these events, reconnect with artsy folks I use to know.
Find my film mojo. Oh, mojo... where are you???
Frequent estate sales in hopes of finding a dusty, forgotten old etching press that no one knows what to do with, buy it for a steal, give it some tlc and get going. (What? Yes it could. It could happen.)
Explore my city.
Take the cameras along.
For everything I buy at the thrift store, send something out of the house.
Wear more skirts.
Grow something. (other than tomatoes.)
Can something. (maybe tomatoes.)
Teach the girl to read. She is oh-so-close.
Help the boy learn to organize and be more responsible for himself.
Start to get a hold on my one big health issue- persistent migraine headaches.
Stay focused. Keep it simple.
Follow through. Finish old projects to free up space (physically and mentally) for new ones.
There. That's plenty.
Until soon.

I'd like to attend more arts functions too.
And I really do hope you can get those migraines kicked.

What a great list. I love the idea of getting rid of one thing for every one you bring in. That is something I should really commit to as well. And you know I'm always ready for a bit of exploring with a camera in tow. :)

that is plenty. and plenty of good stuff, here.
the follow through: ah, yes. where are you? i wonder (for myself...).
best wishes for you, alicia.

I would bet (maybe not a lot of money, but I WOULD bet) that those migraines are food-related. If you took the time to isolate everything in your diet that has caffeine in it (yes, even chocolate-chip cookies), and stop taking them in, you'd notice a difference in the headaches. My sister also can't have plain potato chips and my husband has been told to stay away from bananas and peanut butter (they're supposed to be triggers...).
Hope you find your cure - migraines are no fun, no fun at all.

If you crack the secret to getting your boy to learn to be organized and be more responsible for himself please share it with me!

i hope you are able to find something to help your migraines. i get them off and on and for a while took topomax and that seemed to help.

Sounds like a good list, Alicia. I may have to add a few of those to my own.

My thrifting rule is the same - every time things come into the house an equal number of, if not more, things have to be donated back. It really helps!

Your list sounds good. I really like the part about wearing more skirts. I'd like to do that too but I really need to find the right shoes. Somehow wearing a pair of sneakers with a ruffly denim skirt just doesn't seem right!

I really need to work on finishing this year too.

ooh! this is a good list!
and as far as the migraines go...have your dentist look at your bite. my sister in law had migraines all the time from clenching her teeth while she slept. she now wears a bite plate at night and the migraines are gone.
