Petey: The smartest dog I have ever known. He loved to fetch whatever you would throw, take long walks, swim in lakes, creeks or whatever was there for him to be in.I have never known much about "Jack Russell's" but a magnificent breed for a family pet. When ever he spent a prolonged time with us he would always sleep with me in my bed,at the foot of the bed, under the covers. Dog's generally don't want to have their heads covered but only Petey. I'm now 69 years and bless his heart he outlived me. Maybe another Jack Russell will come along.. You will be missed my little friend.....
I just came across your blog and saw this post... although we don't know each other & there are several thousand miles between us, I've been there and know it hurts. An awful lot. So I decided to delurk and tell you you have all my sympathy. I have an idea this little dog was loved and that's what you must remember when the tears have dried out.
