we're back from the lake
I have discovered the secret to successful vacation prep: leave the second day Brian is off. That way he is around to help load the car and run errands and corral kids and tidy the house. I spent most of my day leisurely catching up on laundry and packing the suitcases. Also noted: it pays to be the closest family to the lake of choice. We were sent home with a cooler packed solid with tasty left-overs!
So, we came back home to a clean house (what a good feeling.) and after about an hour's worth of unpacking and starting of the laundry, we were out back on the patio, eating said left-overs, lounging around, making smores over a fire.
Oh, yeah...

My husband has conveniently (for him) decided that we're leaving on the first day that he is off. Still, it's not like he's any help when it comes to packing, anyway...
