mums

Good morning! The dog and I are getting ready to go out for our morning constitutional, but I thought I'd pop in and say hello. I'm much more caught up with work stuff, so now maybe I can start a few fun projects. I have two little birthday gifts to stitch up. (I think I'll be forever known as the aunt who made cool but late birthday gifts.) I have some plaid to make myself a scarf, and a couple of clothing patterns to ponder. I also have a quilt to piece and two birdie paintings to start for a swap.

When I type it out it seems like an awful lot to do. So what am I sitting here at the computer for?! I better get crackin'.

Wait. First things first. Our walk. Bye- see you later!

The Habitat for Humanity Kansas City ReStore opened its second location this morning! Brian (my sweetie), Don and the gang have been working their tails off for quite awhile to get it ready, and it looks good. Really, really good. This location will be selling (and accepting) gently used furniture along with the usual building supplies and materials. Local friends- go check it out! It's in Waldo, on 79th Street, one block east of Wornall.

Breakfast this morning was catered by a gorgeous mother/daughter duo (ahem. my mom and me), and we stuck around to witness the crowd pouring in. It was exciting. I'm taking the kids over after school for the ribbon cutting ceremony and so they can give their daddy a giant hug. He deserves it. They all do.

Way to go, guys!
