2010 in photos
Hello!
Some of my online buddies have been doing this, and I thought I'd play along. So I'm stepping out of the shadows for a quick photographic recap of 2010. One memorable photograph for each month. (Except for July. July was a doozy. July deserves more.)
January:
The birthday month. My monkeys turn 5 and 9.

February:
A difficult month for me. I fumble through in a fog of depression and migraines.

The fog begins to lift. I am focused on food.

Heading back outside, little by little.

A day spent with a hilarious group of third graders learning about our city.

A wonderful camping weekend with good, good friends.

July:
A large raucous family trip to Tablerock Lake.
We lose a beloved friend.
A much-needed, restorative vacation together.
A new member of the family.

August:
My baby heads off to kindergarten.

September:
A perfect afternoon exploring and picking apples followed by an evening fire, good food and drink.

Applefest.

November:
The new store opens. We are so proud of him.

December:
The perfect holiday week in St. Louis.

All in all, 2010 was very good to us. We are doing well, very well. But it was also an emotional roller coaster as item after item of bad news rolled in from dear friends and family. Divorces, deaths, devastating cancers, serious illnesses, lost jobs.
So on this first day of the new year, I am saying my own little jumbled, not-so-religious but heartfelt prayer for a smooth, healthful, predictable and calm year for all of us.
