Well...
School started Monday and today is the first day that both of my babies will be away all day long. I can't deny I'm having mixed emotions; I waffle between sheer joy and aching sadness.
I am hoping I can find some ways to grow my little business, so that I can keep working from home a few more years. On my list: it's almost time for family photo season. That will keep me busy for awhile. Next, advertising. Real (but cheap) advertising. Ideas? And re-opening my etsy shop. I really want to make that happen too. Cuff bracelets, anyone?
First things first, though. This old mom and young dog need a brisk head-clearing walk.

do you have postcards made up for your photography business? we used to have them made online-uprinting, i think-for the gallery very cheaply, and then you could put them out in stores, cafes, etc.?
or maybe you do that already...
anyway, i know that joy/sadness about having them off again.

I think you could be very successful continuing to broaden your business. Your paintings are beautiful and I think you've been doing really well with the photography. I'm sure all that will keep you really busy though, maybe take a break, just this first week.

I am having these exact same thoughts. It seems like a lot of time in the day to just be home alone. trying to come up with an income plan.

the first day of school can be so bittersweet but you will love it when they come home and tell you of their day. good luck with expanding your business.

My kiddos are both headed off to full-time school this fall too!
I don't know quite what I will do with myself that first day alone.

Oh, such memories! This is the first year ever I don't have a kiddo going off to public school. We move our "baby" to KU tomorrow and I'm gonna be one sad mom! Hope your school year is great...and yes, open that Etsy shop!

I remember feeling that way as a kid going off to school, an overwhelming mixture of excitement and dread.

Mine are both off full time this year. A little sad last week but doing better. Going to expand my business too. Want to open an Etsy shop too. :)
