making lists

Hello, friends!

Before I talk about the lists, I want to mention one thing. Please go over to Echoes for a visit. Today we asked Martha to be our special guest. You just HAVE to go over and see what she created. It is amazing. She talks a little more in depth about it at her journal. I'm going to try to talk her into selling me a print. Think it'll work? : )

making lists

Now, back to my lists. We are getting ready to take a little camping trip and I decided to make a master list to print out each time we go. It took me awhile to think of all the stuff we usually take, but it will be good to have in the long run. And maybe we'll avoid a few of those last minute impulse buys once we get there! (ie: "Oh, crap! Where's my jacket... my swimsuit... my flashlight... the lantern fuel... ?! Come on, I think I saw a Walmart back in town.")

While I was at it, I went over to Erin's site to download her adorable packing list for kids. But I decided we needed something just a little more specific to my kids. So I took a bit of time and drew them up a list of our own. J is definitely old enough to pack his bag, and N and I can do hers together. I think this idea is just brilliant!

I am a list maker. Lists everywhere and for everything. I know some of you are too. Lists really help keep a creative mind more organized.

So for your downloading pleasure:

Erin's smarty-pants packing list- it's in her sidebar!
Rachel's most excellent hivework list.
No nonsense Action list at supafine.
The Project Girl: daily planner, weekly chore schedule, menu planning forms.
Awesome "freakin to do list" (with "dreamy blog topics list") from Vale Design. Ha!
Not to mention MANY at Etsy! I especially love the owls.

Bye bye now!

july 1

Goodbye, June. You treated us very well. Thank you kindly.

Hello, July. Let's play nice, shall we?

day lily

They're blooming again.

I'm completely honored to be a guest over at habit this month.

Please don't forget to get out your art supplies and submit something to the echoes summer is... flickr pool.

You only have a few days left to download the Fanfarlo album for $1. I did. And I love it.

Have a terrific Wednesday! I'm headed back out to the back patio with my sketch book now.

talking about process

process

Rachel has been doing lots of thinking about process- in art and in life. The four of us (Emily, Heather, Rachel, and I) typically do quite a bit of chatting about the subject at Flickr. All of this has prompted us to share a bit with you at Echoes.

Speaking of life processes, you've seen Habit, right? Well go right away if you haven't. It's great.

We are of course still posting at the new NP everyday. Don't be shy over there either.

Well, I'm off to start the process of dinner now. ; )

this house is cleeeeeaaan.

(name that 80's movie)

The Christmas stuff is all sorted and packed away. All of our closets and toy cabinets have had a thorough purging. The coat and linen closets are pared down and organized.

It's good to feel caught up once in awhile. I have had "art dreams" two nights in a row. (Do you ever have those?) I think I'd like to mess up this very tidy studio now- just in time for a little project at Echoes!

Happy Tuesday to you.

my fall color

* autumn findings in my father's bowl by Heather Smith Jones (now in her shop!)
** my target tote
*** my coffee and the book.

...........................

* Can this dark blue-green be my Fall color, please? It was Heather's photo that did it. I decided when I first laid my eyes on that bowl, it should be my color for the season.

** I've been wanting a larger tote to hold my stuff which usually includes two cameras, so when I ran across this bag on super clearance at Target I took it as a sign that it was okay to break our newly imposed No Unnecessary Spending Rule. I'm calling it a business expense.

*** It's a wonderful book indeed and a wonderful gesture from a dear friend.

It's Tuesday and that means a new set of collections will be up at Echoes later today!

echoes (tired smile.)

walnut by walnut

We're tired today. This little worker has a fever and kept us up in the night. Good thing there was something exciting to get me out of bed this morning!

It is thrilling (and a relief) the way you have responded to the change in the Noticing Project while my camera is off enjoying her little spa vacation. And when someone says we've inspired them? Well, that's just incredible. So when Emily and Rachel got their wheels turning about an online journaling project loosely inspired by the new twist over there, I jumped on board. Of course.

Please stop in and visit Echoes: a Collaborative Journal. Emily, Rachel, Heather and I will be posting entries nearly every day in July and August- little tidbits of our days, moments that inspired us, the thoughts swimming about in our heads- all in different media but all with images and words. Sometimes my entries may be related to my NP pieces, sometimes not, but I'm excited to keep the energy of the new NP vibe flowing even after things are business as usual over there again.

Oh! And won't you join us? We've created an Echoes Flickr group, so you can post too. I can't wait to see your journal entries!

Happy Monday. I'm off to snuggle my warm boy on the couch.
